2020 Day of Caring Extended!

The United Way of Natrona County supports volunteerism every day of the year but there’s something special about a collective volunteer effort, celebrated all over the world, that brings people together for ONE HUGE day of giving back to our community! That’s what the annual Day of Caring is all about.

Despite the many changes in our daily lives due to COVID-19, we are excited to share that not only will the 2020 Day of Caring continue, but we’ll be EXPANDING it beyond a single day! This year UWNC is kicking it up a notch by encouraging and coordinating caring projects ALL MONTH LONG! Because if there is anything 2020 needs, it’s some extra caring.

The 2020 Day Month of Caring will kick off on June 21st.  Because the health and safety of all participants is our priority, we’ll be encouraging volunteer projects that naturally offer social distancing (think: landscaping or outside opportunities etc.). Plus, we are adding at-home options as well as a list of opportunities close to home so you can show your family, friends or neighbors how much you care about our community!

As in year’s past, there are two ways to get involved with the 2020 Day Month of Caring: sign up to volunteer or submit your nonprofit projects.

  1. Volunteers, gather your team of co-workers, friends or family and we’ll match you with a project that fits your interests, schedule, and comfort level, while maintaining COVID-19 precautions. Varying hours and length of projects as well as tasks with a variety of skill sets are available. We’ll match you with a project that’s perfect for your group. All you have to do is sign up here: unitedwaync.com/day-of-caring
  2. Nonprofits, we know there’s much to be done and we want to ensure you have the help you need to do it!  Make sure we know about your project by filling out the brief project submission form atunitedwaync.com/day-of-caring. All you have to do is tell us the name of your organization, provide a project brief description,  the number of volunteers you need, plus any special skills required. Finally, be sure to let us know if you have a time frame or deadline you need the project completed by.

The 2020 Day Month of Caring is the perfect way to celebrate the first day of summer and kick off a season of caring. We hope you’ll join us for this long-standing Natrona County tradition by participating in a whole MONTH of giving back! Whether you’re a volunteer eager to participate or nonprofit seeking help from many hands, visit unitedwaync.com/day-of-caring/ to sign up.
