A Global Celebration
The Day of Caring is a global, United Way initiative celebrating volunteerism. All over the world, on the first day of Summer, thousands of people give back to their community on one very special “Day of Caring.” Businesses, civic clubs, teams of friends and family provide volunteers who help nonprofit agencies complete projects around the community. From painting to landscaping to cleaning to reading, when you get many people helping, it's a true world-wide Day of Caring!
In Natrona County
This incredible effort to serve our community represents a close partnership between United Way of Natrona County, our nonprofit agencies, community partners, sponsors and volunteers who stand up to make a difference on the Day of Caring. Our nonprofits work hard to provide much needed services for our community. Having extra hands to help with projects allows them to continue to focus both staff time and donor dollars on critical services for our community. We also love that this event gives our amazing community an opportunity to work directly with and get to know our partners and the great work that they do.
After many years of incredible support (and a brief hiatus), the United Way of Natrona County brought back the Day of Caring in 2019. Thanks to hardworking volunteers like you, it was a resounding success!
2020 EVENT INFORMATION
COVID-19 has brought many changes to our daily lives, but rather than following the
“canceled, closed and limited” route so many of our annual events are having to take, we are excited to share that our 2020 Day of Caring event will CONTINUE, with new opportunities and EXPAND beyond one day!
The 2020 Day of Caring will still kick off on June 21st, the first day of summer...but we'll coordinate and encourage caring projects ALL MONTH long through July 21st!
While some projects may look a bit different this year, as we prioritize the health of everyone, we will continue to encourage opportunities that naturally offer social distancing (think: landscaping or outside projects etc.) and *NEW this year* we are adding at-home projects, as well as a list of opportunities close to home that show your family, friends or neighbors how much you care about your community!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2020 DAY OF CARING
Gather your team of co-workers, friends or family and we’ll match you with a project that fits your interests, schedule, and comfort level, while maintaining COVID-19 precautions. Varying hours and length of projects, as well as tasks with a variety of skill sets are available. Rest assured, we'll find one that's perfect for your group.
Submit your COVID-friendly projects!
